    Heather,

Your resume is well laid out and demonstrates relevant experience as an applicant for the emergency room RN. The following comments are excerpts from my peer evaluation form:

    Cover Letter Evaluation:
    – Positional values mentioned in the first paragraph were well worded! I would add the hospital’s overall mission into your introduction as well.

    – I would add a few more skills specifically demonstrated in the ER that are not typical of other RN roles or opportunity for growth within the unit.

    – Layout looks great!

    – As mentioned before, I think adding your own goals through the organization would demonstrate you are eager to grow and remain with the organization long term.

    Resume Evaluation:
    – I would make your name larger to make it stand out more!

    – The one area I would rephrase is the Other Work Experience: since the dates are already included, I would rephrase the following under the “Counter Server/Food Prep” instead of stating “I spent six consecutive summers taking orders…” I would state “Attending tables, providing timely food delivery and ensuring customer satisfaction.”

    – Certifications and relative experience were all noted within the first section of the resume.

    – I would rephrase a few sections, under Medical Scribe, I would write “Acclimated to a rotating schedule within a small practice, assisting anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners, and physicians in patient rooming and accurately obtaining vitals and recording patient visits.”

I would also rephrase the second Scribe position to state “Medical Scribe Manager, Scribe America…”

A managerial promotion is a huge plus and should stand out more on your resume! The duties listed below should be reworded to support your managerial role position.

    – Well organized and balanced layout.

    – Clinical Rotation section not listed under a separate page.

    Heather,
Your resume is extensive and demonstrates that you have good experience and skills relevant for an emergency department nurse! I wonder if you could play around with font size and bolding titles to make job titles stand out more since they are important!
Your cover letter was well written, but I think you could make it a little more personalized to you and to the specific job you are applying. I would also add a paragraph about some of your work experience and not just nursing school; its all relevant!

Heather- this is an extremely well organized resume that is readable, applicable and very well formatted for this position! This cover letter highlights your skills and qualifications but could use a bit more of personalizing so that when the hiring manager walks away from your application, they can remember you specifically so that you get the job! Overall, great work!
